i dive into the well of my body
and end up in another world
everything i need
already exists in me

Hard one to review。 It bugged me the whole way through that ‘I’ was not capitalised。 Although relatable it felt more like inner thoughts than poetry。 I’d pass it on but it wouldn’t be a book I’d be eager to keep in my collection

Amazing。 What an incredible voice this author has。 I would recommend this book。Quick read, but lots of depth。

i get why people are saying "she wrote the same book twice" but I love her writing and her words。 they're deep and I relate to them。 i get why people are saying "she wrote the same book twice" but I love her writing and her words。 they're deep and I relate to them。 。。。more

the poetry was certainly beautiful and i absolutely loved the writing (as i usually do with rupi kaur) however, i felt that i couldn’t relate to this book as much as her other work。

I like the illustrations along with the poems。 Very uplifting for anyone that had sunk into depression or had to overcome trauma。 Very easy to identify with the feminine perspective as well

REVIEW: Home Body, Rupi KaurRATING: 1。5/5 starsI think that this is the first time I have ever read every book available by a single author。。。and it's an author that I don't even like very much。 Go figure。My new motivation for finishing homework and various essays is reading pages of poetry approximately every hour to break up the monotony。 It's actually working pretty well because I've primarily delved into contemporary pieces, which are usually quite short。 OverDrive is a treasure trove of obs REVIEW: Home Body, Rupi KaurRATING: 1。5/5 starsI think that this is the first time I have ever read every book available by a single author。。。and it's an author that I don't even like very much。 Go figure。My new motivation for finishing homework and various essays is reading pages of poetry approximately every hour to break up the monotony。 It's actually working pretty well because I've primarily delved into contemporary pieces, which are usually quite short。 OverDrive is a treasure trove of obscure poetry books; I was looking for my next grand endeavor when I saw that Ms。 Tumblr Poetry had a third book。 I legitimately had NO idea。 I had to read it immediately。I will admit here, as I have admitted whole-heartedly in the past, that her first two books were not for me。 I respect anyone for which they resonate, but I just cannot qualify the works as poetry。 But at least there was a ton of passion present in several of her pieces。 This one just felt very dull and repetitive。 There were words on the page but I could not feel them at all, with the exception of her piece on molestation。 Overall, there were so many issues tackled。。。which isn't a bad thing in and of itself, but a literal smidge of activism - a sentence, maybe even a word - followed by more fluffy tumblr nonsense was not it for me。 Like I said, it felt like not even her heart was in it, which couldn't make me invested at all。 I think that she needs to hone back into some of the brief longform stuff from her second collection and actually expand on what she is talking about。 Only when she polishes these things will she be able to solidify some literary credibility, in my opinion。 Until then, cheers to mass-publishing text posts, I guess。 。。。more

I was wrong about Rupi Kaur, this book genuinely helped ease my anxiety, and made me feel not worthless。 We all have our stories, and we all have meaning - and in all ways we are deserving of happiness。

I only read this because I wasn’t home but I wanted to fall asleep reading and found this on someone’s bookshelf。 I don’t like rupi Kaur but I somehow end up reading everything she publishes。 Most of it could just be tweets but I can respect her bravery/courage/openness/vulnerability regarding sexual abuse and concerns regarding productivity and the importance of community。 However this is not Poetry in my eyes, I applaud rupi for getting more people into reading, which would hopefully lead them I only read this because I wasn’t home but I wanted to fall asleep reading and found this on someone’s bookshelf。 I don’t like rupi Kaur but I somehow end up reading everything she publishes。 Most of it could just be tweets but I can respect her bravery/courage/openness/vulnerability regarding sexual abuse and concerns regarding productivity and the importance of community。 However this is not Poetry in my eyes, I applaud rupi for getting more people into reading, which would hopefully lead them onto reading better shit 。。。more

It’s so hard to read triggering words but I find comfort in knowing I am not alone。

There were a few poems in here that had the complexities I look for when connecting with writing。 But only one I put a tab in to read for later — but a reminder that poetry is also subjective。 I do feel like the four parts in this book could’ve been separated into four different books, it didn’t feel completed。 Rupi’s voice however is lovely, and I hope she starts going out of her comfort zone and begins to travel into different areas of poetry writing, or writing in general。

Mari

Of the three, this is definitely my favorite。

I haven't read a poetry collection in quite some time, and I honestly missed it。 It was always so magical feeling understood by a line and prose。 Rupi Kaur always does a fantastic job at describing her feelings and her thoughts。 Reading Home Body, brought a sense of peace and harmony to my summer。 I haven't read a poetry collection in quite some time, and I honestly missed it。 It was always so magical feeling understood by a line and prose。 Rupi Kaur always does a fantastic job at describing her feelings and her thoughts。 Reading Home Body, brought a sense of peace and harmony to my summer。 。。。more

More like 2。5 I felt the self love that I didn't feel on the other two (the sun and her flowers, and Milk and honey) so I liked this one better。I think of this one more encouraging and hopeful。I can't put it 3 stars because I don't think it changed my life or made me over think but I did enjoyed it a lot More like 2。5 I felt the self love that I didn't feel on the other two (the sun and her flowers, and Milk and honey) so I liked this one better。I think of this one more encouraging and hopeful。I can't put it 3 stars because I don't think it changed my life or made me over think but I did enjoyed it a lot 。。。more
